I dropped a few hints a while back about a special project I was working on and today is the day to unleash it into the world! My brother and I collaborated on a mini seasonal cookbook filled with fall-inspired recipes, photos, and illustrated stories. All of the recipes are vegan/gluten free and focused on the bounty that is available during the fall months. I’ve always wanted to write a cookbook so this collaboration was a nice way to dip my toe into the pool so to speak. It is available on Amazon for purchase as an e-book but since I really love you guys, I’m also giving away two free copies! All you have to do is leave me a comment below about a favorite fall memory along with your e-mail address (for the purposes of e-mailing a copy of the book if you win). I’ll leave the giveaway open until 11:59 PM on Friday, November 3rd at which point I’ll draw two names at random from the comments. If you’d rather purchase the cookbook and have it now, you can find it here. Have a Happy Halloween and don’t forget to comment below to enter the giveaway 🙂

Our house being cozy and warm by the fire that my Dad lit… My mom baking pumpkin pie… Reading stories about horses and the prairie. Sipping on hot chocolate and looking forward to snow.
Courtney says
Mmmmm pumpkin pie. My Dad used to be in charge of the fireplace at our house, too <3

I organized a pumpkin carving party in our neighborhood. Everyone brought a pumpkin that was cleaned out and ready to carve. Each person carved their own pumpkin based on 3 different categories. We lit all 30+ pumpkins and displayed them on the fence. We determined the winners and gave out prizes. They were beautiful and the kids had a great time. We had a fire in the fire pit and told ghost stories. It was a very fun night.

Carving pumpkins is probably my favorite fall activity! And ghost stories, too?! Sounds awesome 🙂

The smell of dry leaves burning would hang in the air as the sycamore seeds drifted like a fuzzy fog. We would shuffle through the leaves on the sidewalk trying to make the loudest rattling noise we could. There was something about the change in the air that always made me feel excited.
Courtney says
I love that change in the air!! It’s such a nice shift from the humid summer.
